Chief Operating Officer (m/f/d)
Location: Zagreb
COO will act as a key partner to the CEO, embodying strong leadership and a creative approach to business challenges. This position is pivotal for someone who appreciates the art of managing diverse operational domains and leading our team of dedicated professionals towards greater efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness.
Main responsibilities:
- Translate the company’s vision into operational execution by leading initiatives, resolving cross-departmental issues, and maintaining alignment of the leadership team
- Actively manage and participate in daily operational tasks across key departments such as Internal IT, Finance, HR, Office Management, and Legal
- Dive into the details of budgeting and financial management, including hands-on involvement in forecasting, expense tracking, and financial reporting
- Lead HR processes from the front, including direct involvement in hiring, onboarding, professional development, and performance evaluations
- Engage with IT systems, not just at the strategic level, but evaluating IT needs firsthand, and working alongside the IT team when necessary
- Take a proactive role in legal and compliance matters, ensuring that the company not only understands the requirements but also applies them practically in day-to-day operations
- Oversee the execution of strategies and plans, ensuring that they translate into practical, actionable tasks that align with the company's goals, both short-term and long-term
- Monitor key performance metrics closely, not just at the macro level but by digging into the data to understand and respond to the operational drivers
- Be the primary contact for critical stakeholder relationships, nurturing these connections through direct and regular interaction
Required skills, knowledge and experience:
- Proven track record in a high-level operations role, with at least 5 years of experience in management positions
- Comprehensive knowledge of business functions, and extensive understanding of industry practices, policies, and regulations
- Strong analytical abilities and a methodical approach to problem-solving and potential issue identification
- Exceptional leadership abilities
- Exceptional IT skills and fluency in English are required
- Demonstrated experience in international business
- Experience in managing operations for multiple legal entities is an advantage
- Previous experience in the IT industry or a multi-national company environment is an advantage
- Familiarity with managing capital investments to support growth and profitability goals is an advantage
