The main goal is to foster ties between Croatia and the United States through trade and investment with emphasis on strengthening partnership between the business community and the Croatian government at all levels.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Croatia is looking for a proactive and creative person for the position of:
 
Public Affairs Officer (m/f/d)
Location: Zagreb

​​​​​​​Public Affairs Officer is responsible for managing a wide range of AmCham policy communication and event activities. This includes: organization of policy events; writing policy newsletters, speeches and press releases; producing marketing material for policy events; producing digital and print publications; managing policy communications and branding; managing social media; photo and video editing; and keeping the policy website up-to-date. This is an exciting role for someone who is a self-starter, creative and who is passionate about communications and events which should be used to enhance policy advocacy.

Main responsibilities:
  • Organize activities including meetings, conferences, seminars and visits and undertake surveys related to the policy positions of AmCham Croatia
  • Organize events with high level of independence: e.g. select the location, vendors, and develop program ensuring that the event messaging supports the policy positions of AmCham
  • Develop and manage policy sponsorship and advertising partnerships
  • Develop, produce and disseminate policy papers, briefings, reports, and/or project briefs.
  • Write newsletters, speeches, articles, briefings, press releases, social media posts and respond to requests for information from the media
  • Establish and maintain relationships with policy stakeholders, members and public interest groups
  • Plan or direct the development of programs to maintain favorable public and stakeholder views of the organization's agenda and accomplishments
  • The work is largely office-based with attendance at meetings, events and conferences as feature of the work
 
Required skills, knowledge and experience:
  • Work experience and proven interest in Croatian economy/European affairs
  • University degree in journalism, PR, marketing or related field
  • Advanced degree in these areas or equivalent work experience
  • The ideal candidate will have between 2-10 years of professional experience
  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills, with experience in digital communications and social media
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and diplomacy, capable of effectively engaging with various stakeholders, including high-level business executives and government officials
  • Strong organizational, time management, prioritization and administrative skills
  • Strong presentation, facilitation and public speaking skills
  • Strong project and budget management skills, complemented by strong negotiation abilities
  • Highly logical and detail-oriented, demonstrating autonomy and initiative
  • Excel in a collaborative and dynamic small team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Croatian
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Driver's license
